Announcement on the expansion of high purity processing capacity for high-performance graphite products at a consolidated subsidiary
TOYO TANSO CO., LTD.(Chairman, President and CEO: Naotaka Kondo, hereinafter referred to as "the Company") announces that it has decided to make a capital investment to increase production capacity at its consolidated subsidiaries in order to meet the growing global demand for high-purity graphite products.
【Investment context and overview】
Our high-purity graphite products are widely used in semiconductor applications such as components for Si and SiC single crystal production, and components for epitaxial growth, as well as medical applications such as X-ray target components, and are expected to be in high demand over the medium to long term. To this end, our Company has decided to invest in facilities in the USA, Italy and China (decided in May 2023), following capital investment in Japan (decided in October 2022) to increase high-purity processing capacity in Japan, and has now decided to invest in facilities at its consolidated subsidiary in Germany to further strengthen its global supply system.
The total capital investment in the German consolidated subsidiary will amount to approximately 1 billion yen, which, when combined with the existing high-purity processing capacity, will increase the capacity of the subsidiary by approximately 2.5 times. When combined with the capital investment already decided on in Japan, the USA, Italy and China, the Group's overall high-purity processing capacity in 2025 will be approximately 1.9 times greater than in 2022.
In the medium-term management plan, a total of JPY 51.5 billion of capital investment is planned for the five-year period 2023-2027, of which 70% is strategic investment, and this capital investment is part of this plan.
Our company will continue to achieve steady growth by strengthening our production and sales systems to meet customer needs and market trends.
